Challenge

Our client wanted to maximize its operational efficiency when managing and monitoring cattle and required an AI-based solution to enable them to count animals when in pens or pastures thereby removing the human error involved in the manual counting processes and making it as fast as possible.

Solution

Folio3 built a solution for a cattle counting solution that utilizes machine learning to provide an accurate count of cattle/livestock in real-time using live video from HD drone cameras operated by the client’s staff. The cattle entering or leaving the facility will be recorded and the video/images would be used to automatically detect and a count would be given for that particular herd or movement.

Folio3 developed and trained the machine learning model to be deployed in the solutions and also built a complete dashboard to manage and run the solution and reporting system.

Result

With Folio3’s cattle counting solution, Our client was able to automate the cattle monitoring and counting process and remove human error from the process leading to increased efficiencies and a reduction in cost.
