Key takeaways
Dubai-based technology firm Disrupt-X has joined forces with Intel and UAE education provider Taaleem to introduce what they describe as the world's first AI-driven certification and auditing platform for educational facilities.
The collaboration, announced during GITEX Global in Dubai, aims to transform how schools monitor safety, sustainability, and operational performance.
The partnership agreement was signed on October 16, 2025, at GITEX Global, the annual technology conference held at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 13-17.
The deployment will use Taaleem's school campuses across the UAE as pilot sites for the ClimaCert-X platform.
The ClimaCert-X system operates through Disrupt-X's ALEF 360° platform, which connects advanced IoT sensors throughout school facilities.
These sensors continuously monitor environmental metrics, including air quality and water quality in swimming pools, providing real-time data on safety and sustainability standards.
According to the companies, the platform enables automated compliance monitoring and generates performance insights without manual auditing processes.
Intel contributes Edge AI and Cloud technologies to support the system's data processing capabilities.
"This partnership with Intel and Taaleem reflects our shared commitment to driving innovation and sustainability within the education sector," said Asim Sajwani, CEO of Disrupt-X. "With ClimaCert-X and ALEF 360°, we're enabling schools to translate insights into action — enhancing safety, improving air and water quality, and driving sustainable operations."
Addressing operational challenges in education
Taaleem, which operates multiple schools throughout the UAE, has been exploring ways to integrate technology into its operations and educational programs.
The company has previously established an AI task force to guide technology implementation across its facilities.
Maris Keijser, Group Head of Operations at Taaleem, emphasized the operational benefits of the collaboration.
"Our collaboration with Intel and Disrupt-X brings together data, innovation, and operational excellence — helping us make informed decisions that enhance wellbeing and environmental performance across our campuses," Keijser said.
Maha Laasri, Group Health, Safety & ESG Manager at Taaleem, connected the initiative to broader sustainability goals.
"This partnership marks a new era for managing safety, sustainability, and operational excellence within our schools," Laasri said. "Every innovation at Taaleem serves a purpose: to protect our people, empower our educators, and build a legacy of sustainability that supports the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Vision."
The technology industry's push into educational infrastructure
Intel's participation in the project reflects broader industry interest in applying AI and IoT technologies to institutional environments. Renu Navale, Vice President and GM of Smart Cities at Intel, highlighted the technical capabilities being deployed.
"Intel's Edge AI technologies are transforming educational environments by delivering measurable improvements in health, safety, and environmental quality while exceeding industry standards," Navale said. "Our joint solutions with partners deliver uncompromised data privacy, lower operational costs, and environmentally responsible learning spaces for future generations."
The companies claim ClimaCert-X reduces certification timeframes from months to hours and lowers costs by more than 90% compared to traditional green building certification systems such as LEED, WELL, and BREEAM.
The platform provides what the companies describe as continuous, automated certification rather than periodic manual audits.
The pilot program at Taaleem schools will serve as a test case for potential broader deployment across educational facilities in other regions.
