| Breaking News: Elon Musk shocks the world with Tesla’s $30K self-driving Cybercab and a massive Robovan, primed to disrupt city streets and reshape the future of mobility. The robotaxi era is here – fasten your seatbelts. The ride of a lifetime is just getting started!

In a highly anticipated presentation at Tesla’s invitation-only “We, Robot” event, CEO Elon Musk showcased the company’s futuristic Cybercab concept, a sleek, low-profile two-seater devoid of traditional steering wheels and pedals. Musk's appearance, arriving in the Cybercab nearly an hour late, marked a bold statement on the potential future of autonomous transport.

Despite its narrow appearance, the Cybercab offers a surprisingly spacious interior, with flat, comfortable seats designed for relaxation. Once inside, passengers can simply fasten their seatbelts, input their destination, and enjoy a film or game while the vehicle handles the driving. The cautious driving style was likened to being chauffeured by a careful grandparent, providing a reassuring experience for occupants.

While the precise details about battery size and range remain under wraps, Tesla aims for the Cybercab to be the most efficient electric vehicle on the market, targeting around 200 miles of range and an efficiency rating of 5.5 miles per kilowatt-hour. Current prototypes utilize inductive charging, although discussions about a plug-in version for production continue.

During the event at the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank, California, Musk also revealed that Tesla currently has 21 Cybercabs and a total of 50 “autonomous” vehicles on-site. Although details about the production location remain undisclosed, Musk indicated that consumers could purchase the Cybercab for less than $30,000, with hopes of commencing production before 2027.

Additionally, Musk announced plans for Tesla to roll out “unsupervised Full Self-Driving” (FSD) capabilities in Texas and California as early as next year. Currently, FSD operates in a “supervised” mode, requiring a human driver to be alert and ready to intervene at any moment. Adding the term “supervised” to the product name earlier this year highlights the ongoing evolution of Tesla’s driver assistance system.

“It’s going to be a glorious future,” Musk proclaimed, emphasizing his vision for a world transformed by autonomous vehicles.

In tandem with the Cybercab, Musk introduced plans for a robust Robovan capable of carrying up to 20 passengers or transporting goods, designed to cater to high-density needs such as sports team transportation. The Robovan aims to offer a versatile solution, expanding Tesla's reach within the autonomous vehicle market.

Cybercab and Robovan will use inductive charging technology, enabling these vehicles to charge wirelessly, further enhancing their user-friendliness and operational efficiency. This innovative approach reflects Tesla's commitment to advancing sustainable and efficient transport solutions.

While the presentation stirred excitement about Tesla's future, it highlighted the challenges ahead. The timeline for unsupervised FSD deployment and the mass production of the Cybercab and Robovan will depend on overcoming regulatory hurdles and ensuring safety protocols are in place. Nonetheless, Musk's optimistic outlook paints a promising picture for the next chapter in autonomous transportation.
