Key takeaways
Eleos Life has introduced an AI voice agent designed to provide round-the-clock assistance to insurance customers, marking the company's latest step in expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities.
The new voice agent supports customers with updating policy coverage details, cancelling existing policies, and sharing feedback with the provider.
The system also makes outbound calls to guide prospective customers through their insurance options.
Shankar Eswaran, CEO of Eleos Life, said: "We're committed to making protection simple, accessible, and always available.
Our voice agent extends this mission by giving customers the support they need, exactly when they need it – whether that's at midnight or mid-afternoon."
Building on Theea's success
The voice agent launch follows Eleos Life's introduction of Theea, an AI-powered digital co-pilot launched earlier in 2024.
Theea began as a chatbot assistant for basic questions but has evolved into what the company describes as a comprehensive co-pilot that helps customers understand policies, determine suitable coverage, and proceed through the purchase process.
Theea offers on-demand access to policy guidance using proprietary data and provides multilingual support, translating insurance terms into approximately 40 languages.
A two-month pilot program involving more than 5,000 customers demonstrated that those who used Theea were 2.5 times more likely to purchase a life insurance policy.
Accessibility-focused design
The voice agent aims to serve customers who may find reading online content or writing emails challenging, providing an alternative communication channel for policy management and inquiries.
The technology operates continuously, allowing customers to access support outside traditional business hours.
Eleos Life operates as a digital provider of embedded term life insurance, disability insurance, and income protection in both the US and UK markets.
