Key takeaways
The enhancement, announced on December 15, 2025, marks a shift from text-only research reports to comprehensive visual presentations that include custom images, charts, and interactive simulations.
According to Google's official blog, the company is "enhancing Gemini Deep Research to help you visualize complex information instantly."
The update enables the AI tool to "go beyond text to generate rich, visual reports complete with custom images, charts, and interactive simulations."
The new visual reporting feature addresses a common challenge in data analysis: translating complex information into digestible, actionable insights.
Google states that users working on tasks ranging from marketing budget allocation to exploring complex scientific theories can now benefit from automatically illustrated findings.
"Instead of just reading about a strategy, you can interact with a dynamic simulation model within your report to forecast outcomes based on different variables," Google explained in its announcement.
The tool combines what the company describes as "deep analysis with dynamic visuals like diagrams and schematics," designed to transform "dense data into tangible, easy-to-understand insights."
Availability and access
The enhanced visual reporting capabilities are currently limited to Google AI Ultra subscribers, Google's premium tier priced at $249.99 per month.
This subscription level provides the highest access to Google's most powerful AI features, including unlimited Deep Research queries and access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro model.
To access the new features, subscribers can select "Deep Research" in the Gemini app prompt bar.
The update builds upon improvements made to Deep Research earlier in 2025, when Google added support for document uploads and Google Drive integration in May.
Broader context of deep research evolution
Google first introduced Deep Research in December 2024 as part of its Gemini 2.0 launch.
The tool was designed to function as an autonomous research assistant capable of analyzing hundreds of sources to generate comprehensive reports.
On December 11, 2025, Google released a significantly upgraded version powered by Gemini 3 Pro, featuring improved search capabilities and visual reasoning.
The December 11 release, which coincided with OpenAI's launch of GPT-5.2, made Deep Research available to developers through Google's new Interactions API.
Google tested the upgraded agent on benchmarks including Humanity's Last Exam, where it achieved a 46.4% solve rate, and DeepSearchQA, a newly open-sourced benchmark for complex multi-step research tasks.
The addition of visual reporting represents Google's continued investment in making AI research tools more accessible and practical for enterprise users.
