Key Takeaways
ServiceTitan, the Los Angeles-based construction technology platform, announced the launch of Atlas, an advanced AI-powered assistant designed to automate critical administrative and financial tasks for commercial construction contractors.
The announcement was made at the company's annual Pantheon 2025 user conference held September 17-19 at the Anaheim Convention Center, drawing more than 4,000 attendees.
Atlas represents major push into commercial construction
The launch of Atlas marks ServiceTitan's strategic expansion into commercial and infrastructure construction markets, building on the company's established presence in specialty contracting.
Founded in 2012 by Vahe Kuzoyan and Ara Mahdessian, ServiceTitan grew from a niche provider for small specialty shops into one of the fastest-growing construction tech firms in the U.S.
Backed by more than $1 billion in venture funding, it went public on Nasdaq (TTAN) in December 2024.
Atlas functions as what ServiceTitan calls an "AI sidekick" that contractors can interact with using plain English commands.
The system can automate tasks ranging from running reports and dispatching technicians to generating requests for information (RFIs) and managing daily project logs.
"Unlike traditional tools, Atlas feels less like software and more like a trusted co-pilot or even a chief of staff that adapts to the specific workflows of any contractor," said Vahe Kuzoyan, co-founder and president of ServiceTitan.
Comprehensive automation for construction workflows
The Atlas platform delivers several key capabilities specifically designed for commercial construction operations.
A reporter from Roofing Contractor, ENR's sister publication, noted new features including a real-time Project P&L dashboard, a three-way match tool for vendor bills that ServiceTitan says automates up to 90% of invoices, and a Global Project Backlog view showing labor demand and capacity.
The system also includes automated daily log completion, automatic generation of RFIs and change orders, and streamlined accounts receivable features for complex construction billing workflows.
For field technicians, Atlas provides instant answers through ServiceTitan Mobile, eliminating the need to call dispatch and reducing project interruptions.
"In an instant, I can pull a WIP report and see every project live today—what billing looks like, how much we billed on equipment, how much we used on labor," said John Hurst, president of Interstate AC.
The announcement comes as the construction industry faces persistent challenges including labor shortages, rising material costs, and margin pressures.
ServiceTitan executives positioned AI as a transformative solution rather than a replacement for human workers.
"AI isn't going to replace contractors, but it will absolutely transform how they operate," said Mahdessian, ServiceTitan co-founder and CEO. "Business owners who adapt and embrace this new reality will thrive, while those who don't will be left behind."
The company reported strong performance metrics, with nearly 2,000 contractors on its platform had at least one $1-million revenue month in the past year, with 137 reporting a $1-million day.
Long-term users of ServiceTitan's platform report significant operational improvements, including a 2% increase in net profit margins, payments collected 12 days faster on average and 8% more projects delivered on time.
Strategic market expansion
ServiceTitan's move into commercial construction represents an expansion from its traditional base serving residential specialty contractors.
The company has been building partnerships with major suppliers to support this growth, including deals with SRS Distribution (a Home Depot subsidiary), ABC Supply, and Ferguson Enterprises to integrate real-time pricing and ordering capabilities.
The expansion aligns with broader industry trends toward digital transformation in construction, driven by labor shortages and the need for operational efficiency.
ServiceTitan's platform now supports tens of thousands of contractors across scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, and customer communication functions.
